The challengers to the throne of Super Rugby are now clear. The Blues and Chiefs lead the NZ conference, the Reds and Brumbies the Oz conference, and the Stormers, Bulls and Cheetahs the SA conference.
The competition is so close that home ground advantage will count for plenty in the finals, and that only means good things for our two teams. They aren’t dropping games like most of their counterparts, and it is getting to that point they can dare to dream.
So can Brumbies and Reds fans get excited? You better believe it. First the Lions, then the Super Rugby trophy, then the Bledisloe. It’s all coming together…
Am I being too optimistic? Undoubtedly. But it is nice to dream sometimes.
