Back Row
Plenty of options here, but I am going to play it pretty safe.

6. Scott Fardy
G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year for 2013, and thus is the first man picked for the opening game of 2014. I can’t wait to see what his sophomore year will bring us.

7. Michael Hooper (c)
Will lead the Wallabies to the World Cup. Has the class, the experience and the leadership ability. The standout player in Super Rugby so far.

8. Wycliff Palu
Just shades both McCalman and Higgers. His class at the top level gets him across the line- coming 2nd in the John Eales Medal despite only playing half the games says everything about the high regard in which he is held by his team-mates.

Bench:
20. Angus Cottrell
A good hard youngster to blood against the Frenchies.
21. Scott Higginbotham
Has a bit of spark and creativity that gets him this spot ahead of the unlucky Ben McCalman.
