2. Good Godwin
I really like Kyle Godwin – which is funny because I thought he was poor at the Under 20 World Cup just under 12 months ago. He is showing a physicality that I never expected, as well as a refined kicking and passing game. His presence was desperately missed on Friday, where the Force put in a pretty good showing against the Canes.
Let’s have a look at his 2013 stats (according to Fox):
88 tackles made, 9 misses (92%), 57 runs, 22 tackles bust, 3 line-breaks, 11 offloads and a try assist.
Very impressive indeed. A real local Force product, he is the lynchpin of a backline that is slowly starting to show a bit of flair. If he keeps up his current form he would certainly deserve a shot at the EOYT squad, as he looks like a star of the future. He is still very young, and the sky is the limit.
