1 Waratahs
Ranking 7/10 ↑0.5
Last four outings: BP win, win, win, BP loss.
Despite going down to the Rebels last weekend the Waratahs are still clearly the form Australian side. Berrick Barnes is bringing an energy we haven’t seen from in years. Israel Folau improves every week. As does Bernard Foley. But the long term injury to Tatafu Polota-Nau could put a dent in their form. And dropping the in-form Rob Horne to accommodate Barnes could also have a negative effect. Horne did seem to struggle with his finishers role last week.
What ever happens this season the Tahs can be proud of their new playing style and it must be only a matter of time before the crowds return.
The final word
What a difference a couple of weeks make. The Force and Rebels are on the up. The Reds have dropped two places! The Brumbies and Waratahs are going about their business with little fuss. Good signs? With the losses from the Reds and Waratahs we are now in danger of only having one side in the finals! Our best chance for a second side is the Reds but with games against the in-form Rebels and Waratahs coming up it would take a major form reversal. Can the Reds make it? What about the Tahs? I’m not so sure if either can get across the line.
