The Reds have spluttered along for most of the season. Key players have been injured but their return has lifted the side. James Horwill is leading and playing exceptionally well. Will Genia has had a masterful season while his halves partner, Quade Cooper, is slowly benefiting from his form. The back-row of Quirk, Gill and Schatz have been a revelation.
But the attack, until last weekend, has been stilted. And the determination to go for tries instead of penalties, while admirable, has worked against them at times. To top it all they still haven’t put together a complete performance this season.
