If we come, they will build it.

There is an announcement coming for the Photo Comp run last week, but here is the latest from the #3rdtier.

I will continue to trawl the forum threads for each competition when putting this post together for match reviews, so if you are at a game, jot a couple of lines down, post them in relevant thread and I will include it in next weeks edition. Thanks to those who posted reviews this week.

Round 3 Results:

Norths 10 v Brothers 36
Gold Coast 20 v Wests 28
Review from Sully

A scrappy game this one. I’ve heard from reports that Wests where cruelled by injury and this would explain the lack of fluidity in their play. I’m not sure why the Breakers looked the same. the set pieces were a mixed bad with the scrums looking really good and the lineouts looking like a dogs breakfast. Having said that the game was played in the right spirit with plenty of enterprising play from both sides. The fact that the game wasn’t decided until the final minute lead to a great atmosphere and a bit of tension for both sides supporters. Unfortunately for the Gold coast supporters the West guys managed a try at the buzzer to seal the match. The Burgers were pretty good, the beer was cold the weather was perfect and my possy on the half way line was choice. If only I wasn’t surrounded by West supporters.

Souths 22 v Uni 33
Review by Tigerland12

Souths vs Uni was a pretty decent game. Uni never really looked like loosing though, always a solid gap away. But Souths forwards impressed me, their scrum was the stronger and they were very physical with ball in hand. Their number 8 is a beast of a man, thought he was excellent. Their backs on the other hand did not really do much and got caught defensively a few times.

Uni was pretty solid all round. Their two big centers impressed me, had good communicated running lines. But bloody hell Ambrosini needs to be conistent, he threw numerous ball the ground passes. Winger Morseau was dangerous everytime he got the pill, whilst fullback Tuffley was solid. In the forwards the hooker (Wade?) was excellent around the park, as was young Curtis Browning. For a young lad he runs hard, set up a great try an was active with ball in hand, i can’t imagine how much of a massacre it would be if he turned out against a Colts side!

Warringah 40 v West Harbour 19
Penrith 12 v Manly 17
Northern Suburbs 25 v Randwick 18
Southern Districts 26 v Sydney University 23
Review by Refabit

Saw a pretty reasonable game at Forshaw where Souths triumphed over Uni. The Uni forwards totally dominated the Souths pack at scrums, lineouts and pick-and-drive rucks yet couldn’t post the rewards. Souths did some clever things when they got quick ball with Bracken KH showing some class. The Qld ref got most things right too!

Eastern Suburbs 32 v Parramatta 27
Review by 2bluesfan

The disappointment of the Parra faithful was evident at the conclusion of their match against Easts at Woollahra on Saturday. A game that was there for the winning. Final score Easts 32 Parra 27 after Parra had quietened the Easts crowd by skipping away to a 17 point lead after only 20 minutes. Full credit to Easts for hanging in and finding a way to win but our boys should be disappointed. Hopefully they learn from this.
