Joeys new scoreboard doesn’t lie
St. Joseph’s College at Hunters Hill in Sydney unveiled its new scoreboard at a ceremony last Saturday. It was financed by an admirable fundraising effort.
It was named in honour of Tom Lantry AOM, an old boy, teacher, coach and supporter of the College for over 50 years. Lantry, who passed away last year, was a true Joeys legend, and according to his wife, Mary, he always complained about the old scoreboard.
I looks pretty spic too, but was was remarkable about it were the results it showed for the the Joeys’ teams on the day.
Joeys may not win the First XV competition these days because of the arms race of some other schools who stack their top team in objectionable ways, but it has no challenger in its overall results.
Here’s some of the results from Saturday:

Not a bad day for Joeys and they won the 1st XV game too.
Played 41, won 37, drew 2, lost 2
Counting draws as half a win, that’s a success rate of 93%[/one_half]
