To me this is the most settled section of the side. There are three clear standouts to start, and a number of good options for the two bench spots.

1. James Slipper
Has been the standout for the Reds in a shithouse year. His suspension could not have come at a worse time for both him and the team. He has added a physical edge to his play, and has been the anchor for a much improved Reds scrum. A definite pick for me.

2. Stephen Moore
No brainer.

3. Ben Alexander
Continues to be the standout tighthead. Showed good International form at the back end of last year and will get the nod to start against the Frogs. There are a number of promising youngsters in this spot but they are still a year or two away.

Bench:
16. Tatafu Polota-Nau
Still the outstanding bench option, will provide plenty of energy in the last 15.
17. Sekope Kepu
Can play both sides of the scrum, and was in great form on the EOYT last year. Will push Alexander for the tighthead spot.
18. Scott Sio
Young gun who will only improve given the chance.
