A complete and utter Rugby tragic, former very average No.4, who loves the game and all that comes with it. Born In NSW, resides in QLD (Gods Sate), known for coming in off the long run up. Remember lads and laddettes :|"It all starts in the second row!" I take the mickey out of everyone, but mostly myself, so don’t get to worked up about the dribbling’s and rantings of an old second rower. Join in the fun!

Well well well! Here we go now. And no this isn’t a jump on the sack Eddie bandwagon article because we lost the Wales game. Most of you G&GRs will know that I’m no fan of Hamish or Eddie and his appointment. As evidenced by here and here! No, this is Bris coming off the long run up, in fact from outside the boundary fence. What did we genuinely think was going to happen? As I mentioned previously in my other two articles, what did we all genuinely think was going to happen here? This was an ill-conceived plan from…

Well happy Monday G&GRs and what an exciting round 3 of RWC. Some great matches out of this round, and potentially we saw a preview of the World Cup final. Also, some massive injury news could greatly affect the hosts’ chances. A couple of cricket score type games balanced out a few of the nailbiters to make this a really exciting round. I’ll also round out Monday’s news with a stunning piece of arrogance from RA and Hamish ‘The Hammer’ McLennan. *Note – This is written before Scotland v Tonga and Wales v Australia. Now don’t be alarmed by the headline, I’m not saying sack Eddie today! But, at the end of the World Cup, he needs to quietly submit his resignation, and exit stage left. If he doesn’t resign, then Phil Waugh needs to have a ‘Come to Jesus’ conversation that says “You can resign or be fired publicly, your choice!” And while Eddie is quietly sulking on the way out the door, take Hamish with you. When did anyone ever think that sacking your coach eight months prior to the RWC was going to bear fruit in any way? The Premise When…

Happy Monday G&GRs! Hope you lot are feeling as sleep-deprived as I am. Other than Australia v Fiji, Round 2 has really been a case of David v Goliath. Tier 1 v the minnows. As generally happens in RWCs, the heavyweights of the pools engage with the second tier. However, we are definitely seeing an improvement in all of the tier 2 nations, and to date, no real cricket scores are being racked up. So anyway let us dive into round two and see what has come out of these games. * Note: this match report was written late Sunday…

The Match In what has to go down as the match of the tournament to date, this blistering encounter between Fiji and Wales was just heart in the mouth stuff. I couldn’t take my eyes off the TV the whole game. Wales had to hang on with their fingernails as they just managed to close out the game against Fiji in an absolutely thrilling match in Bordeaux, winning 32-26 early Monday morning Australian time. The Fijians came oh so close to recovering from being outmuscled by Wales to have them 32-14 down with just seven minutes remaining to go. But…

Wow G&GRs, I don’t know about you lot but too much rugby just isn’t enough! Even the time difference isn’t dampening my enthusiasm. Just love this! It has been an absolutely fascinating opening weekend this RWC2023. So let’s dive in and review the first weekend’s round of matches.* Please note this report was written late Sunday night and will not include the games that were played late (South Africa v Scotland and Wales v Fiji). Welcome one and all to G&GRs final countdown to the Big Dance! With minimal rugby on this weekend it gives us a chance to look at some of the other things going on, but also to part with our final thoughts and predictions leading into the kick-off in less than a week! Well, four and a half days to be more precise. We will also have a bit of a gander at the Barbarians (read Aus A) against the Northampton Saints game. Eddie Jones has also stuck the boot into his former employer the RFU! And Fiji are remaining focussed…

Well, Happy Monday RDUs, and what a massive weekend of rugby we had to lead into the world cup. We will have a brief run-through of the results and what impacts, if any, that has had on teams leading into the Bill. I will also discuss Dr. Evils’ presser and the Presser that Hamish “I have to back you because I hired you” McLennan gave alongside Dr. Evil. So let’s sit at our desks, make it look like we are doing work, have a coffee, and let us grab a snorkel because we are going down! Lead Up games France…

Happy Monday RDU’s! Well didn’t Thursday evening’s squad announcement set the cat amongst the pigeons? We will have a look at that at the end of this article in what will definitely be BLL coming in off the long run-up, in Wallabies Dilemmas! Lets just say I am not happy Jan! But firstly, we will roll out the Weekend’s results, in what were two really interesting and contrasting encounters for completely different reasons. And then have a delve into “Lead-up Issues’ that all squads are now facing prior to the kick-off of the Big Dance! So come on Lad’s and…

OK RDU’s! To be honest that loss hurt more than the one from last week. Just soul destroying! As Hoss has mentioned many times before it is the hope that kills you. Sitting up here in Townsville, this Mad Monday rant is going to me being a lot harsher on the Wobs than the week befores’ total capitulation. But firstly we will look at the other results of the many other tests played this weekend; and then I will come in from the long run up and viscerate that performance. Other Results Some really interesting results there over the weekend.…

Well after shaking off my hangover, and coming to terms with that dreadful loss and the injuries to our players, I am back to write Monday’s rugby news. Firstly we will look at the Haggis Eaters Vs Italians, have a gander at the Dutch Dirt Farmers against the FISM’s, and then round out the morning with a bit of post-game review of the Wallabies, and again I will harp on Leadership. So grab your KWOFFEEEEE, sit down, and let us go for a ride. Scotland V Italy A very experimental Scotland handed Italy a defeat (25-13) in the first match…

Apologies for the late posting, I was hungover from drowning my sorrows from having to watch that disaster. Saturday night proved to be disappointing to Wallabies fans in all so many ways. With the game not going to plan, selections not working and the injury toll now debilitating our world cup bid. Was it what we expected? I would say minus the injuries yes! First Half The First half didn’t really start off the way the Wallabies or Eddie would have wanted. A beautiful kick by Aaron Smith sent the ball deep into the All Blacks Attacking 22. The subsequent…

Well, happy Monday one and all in the RDU universe. Kind of like the Marvel universe but less geeky, a lot older, fatter, and alcohol-soaked. With no TRC games on over the weekend, you would think there isn’t a lot to talk about. But alas there definitely is. Firstly we will discuss the flying Fijians and their marvelous 5 tries to 3 victory over Tonga. We will also look at the Samoan victory over the Japanese in ‘Close Encounters of the Aisa-Pacific Kind’. We will have a look at Dr. Evil’s crazy selection wheel, and round out with a discussion…

Hearty CongratulationsFirstly a hearty congratulations to both Los Pumas and the All Blacks for what can only be described as good performances. We will have a look at the ‘Nearlies’ stunning match win over the ‘Dutch Dirt Farmers’, in Taking Care of Business. But first, let’s have a dissection of the Wallaby’s below-par performance on Saturday night. Are the Wallabies becoming Catholic?Well, the Hoss Man refers to the South Africans as Catholics (due to them having an aversion to the pill (ball) in playing non-possession rugby). And with Eddie the messiah (insert sarcasm font) saying possession rugby is dead, the…

Well, well, well three holes in the ground usually containing water. A new head coach, a new coaching team, a different competition, and yet our Wallabies still suck. Noting all the commentary on the site post the game, there seemed to be a central theme. The coaching team has changed, but players remain the same, and therein lies the problem. The Super Pacific Rugby Season highlighted a lot of our player’s inadequacies, and at the international level, these just get magnified. So let’s take a look at a few key areas to discuss before we move on to the other…

The Captaincy Dilemma With Eddie ‘Dr Evil’ Jones recently announcing his squad for The Rugby Championship, he also announced the Captaincy for Wallabies. In an interesting move, Eddie Jones has announced co-captains in James Slipper and Michael Hooper to share the big “C” for the Rugby Championship. Whether this is for the World Cup as well is unknown. “We want to do things differently. We want to change the Wallabies,” Jones said. “The combination of Slips and Hoops together gives us a very strong apex to the leadership andunderneath that there’s a group of players that are going to be…
