Fiji Sevens outshine New Zealand twice in Vegas
With their second win in the Sevens World Series The Flying Fijians cemented their position in the top three of the world rankings: a passport for the direct qualification to Rio 2016
The Fijians dominated the final by scoring three unanswered tries in the first half and extending their lead in the second up to an impressive 35-5.
At the end of 20 minutes of fast and furious sevens Fiji won 35-19 after conceding two late tries to the All Blacks.
Fiji’s style of play is unbelievable: every possession can be converted into a try by everyone of their players.
Tackling them is almost impossible at stages and they can make the best of broken play.
Watching Fiji playing Sevens is the best ad for the short version of the code.
In the pool stages Fiji also beat New Zealand 14-12 and took the first place in their group. This result was negative for Australia, who had to face the rage of the wounded All Blacks in the quarter-final.
But Australia found a reason to smile at the end of the Vegas tournament with a victory against the old foe England in the Plate Final to stay ahead of them in the standings, which they must keep doing.
