2. Tah Time
I think the Waratahs effort against the Stormers was more impressive than their performance against the Kings. They have shown a lot this year but had yet to prove they can stand up in the physicality stakes and win a low-scoring game. They were pushed around by the Brumbies in Canberra, and it is timely that they face the men from the Capital again this weekend.
I continue to be impressed with the work of Rob Horne. His front-on defence was brutal and alongside AAC he dominated the Springbok pair of de Villiers and de Jongh. With ball in hand he was also very good, running intelligent lines and carrying defences over the advantage line. I reckon we will be the Wallabies starting 12 due to his established combination with AAC and his physical style which we know Robbie loves. TPN and Kane Douglas also put in season best efforts.
As for the team as a whole, they are still a work in progress. But each week they tick another box, and this week it was the ability to compete up front with a big Saffer side. This week they face a similar challenge. I can’t wait as the game will be a ripper.
