1. Lions Watch
It was hard to get much out of Saturday’s match between the Lions and the Barbarians. It was a pretty shithouse Baabaas line-up, and in the end the scoreline was fitting. The Lions looked a little scratchy at times, but in the few moments it came together they certainly looked every bit the sum of their parts. Mike Phillips was particularly good, as were Jamie Roberts and Justin Tipuric.
The Force have named a second-string side to play them tomorrow night, which is understandable when you consider they have a Super fixture just three days later. Their pack should provide enough grunt to make it a hard-fought game, and although you expect the Lions to win handsomely it will be interesting to see the impact guys like Richard Brown, Matt Hodgson and Angus Cottrell will have at the breakdown.
