3. Snakes and Ladders
2,10,11,14 and 15 sound like numbers for lotto but the sad reality right now is that those numbers represent the positions of the Aussie teams on the Super Rugby ladder.
At the halfway point of the season, it must be a worry for Wallabies coach Michael Cheika with the World Cup on the horizon. Round 9 had the Brumbies, Waratahs, Force and Reds in action coming up without a win, the first time no Australian team won in a round since 2009 and has given the critics easy ammunition as to the long term viability of a five team Australian conference.
The other conferences will probably roll out the usual lines of ‘easy beats’ within the Aussie conference and the like with calls for a restructure of the finals series but luckily the future of that has been secured with the new Super Rugby format to take place from 2016.
