4. Who’d want to be Quade Cooper right now.
I’m sorry to be all Redscentric but I don’t write this column very often so please indulge me.
Cooper is an amazing player and when on song can rip teams to pieces but right now I’d hate to be in his shoes. The Reds are in a very bad place and as the malaise continues and a return date is firming the expectation is that he will instantly change Queensland’s fortunes for the better. I’d like nothing better for this to be true but even my unending enthusiasm can’t see it happening.
Of the host of other players returning I can see only Simmons, Horwill and Hunt taking any pressure of him. If the miraculous turn around doesn’t happen it won’t be Coopers fault. He will give his best each times he plays.
