Jones – Beale too good to omit
Eddie Jones has written that “Rugby cannot toss Kurtley away. His talent puts him among 11 “must” selections in the starting XV for the first Test in Brisbane on June 22.” The former Wallaby coach says he just needs pairing with a minder he admires, like Mark or Glen Ella.
Interestingly Jones then goes on to talk about who is core to the Wallaby team. He puts Folau at 15, Digby on one wing and then says the other wing “has to have real speed” and that Joe Tomane fits that bill. So where does that leave Beale when Jones also says Cooper should be 10?

NFL to back professional US Rugby comp
Premier Rugby Limited, which represents the English Aviva Premiership clubs, and the National Football League (American Football) are to jointly back an innovative rugby union plan in the US.
It involves the NFL using their stadia and TV network to pump rugby. As a test they’ll be running an invitational match between London Irish and an American Barbarians side. The match will take place at Gillette Stadium near Boston on August 10 and be called the Independence Cup. It is the first step towards establishing an East Coast league of about six teams from Boston to Miami that would begin as early as next year.
