Brisbane City came to sydney with their A team, their A game, and the confidence to put the Horan Little shield on the line against an injury plagued yet much improved Sydney Stars team. The Match City’s Super Rugby payers all stood out early, with Neville, Kerevi and Hunt all making meters at will. The Stars put some big hits on but it was only 5 minutes into the match when Karmichael exploited an overlap off a stolen lineout and turned the ball inside to Laloifi for the first try of the game. 3 minutes later it was Hunt again…
The Sydney Stars held off a willing Perth Spirit side in the sunshine at Leichhardt Oval, in a hard fought, see-sawing encounter. The Match It was a fast paced and rugged opening to the match, with both teams attacking and tackling hard. Perth forwards Richard Hardwick and Rory Walton caused the Stars defence plenty of trouble, offloading well and shedding tackles at will. For the Stars Tom Kingston had some strong runs. While not setting the world on fire, the 2014 team did expose a couple of young guns, in James Dargerville and Jim Stewart, who are now both contracted SupeRugby players. New Coach The biggest change this year is to the Head Coach. With Chris Malone drafted into the Waratahs coaching staff, the reins have been handed to former Waratah and Sydney University winger, Peter Playford. Playford was 2014…

It was mentioned on the forum that we have the beginnings of a very skilled Kick Return team within the core Wallabies squad, and I tend to agree. Over the course of the last two years we have seen a renaissance of counter-attack from some of the young Wallaby backs. There are two obvious explanations for this:…
