Aussie Schools Champs Day 1

For those who want to know here are some details of the tournament:

The Teams

The Championships bring together the best Under-18 schools players in the country. They play in two divisions:

 Division I

There are two pools of four teams each:

POOL A: ACT, NSW II, QLD I, VIC

POOL B: Combined States, NSW I, QLD II, WA

The Combined States team is made up of players who were not selected in the other teams.

QLD 1 and NSW II are always placed in the same pool, and NSW I and QLD II in the other pool

Each team plays the other three teams in their pool, and on finals’ day the top team from Pool A plays the top team from Pool B for first place. The second placed teams play each other for third place, and so on.

Division Two

There are four teams who play each other once, with no finals — Northern Territory, Tasmania, South Australia and the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team

Note — the times for the matches on Thursday 4th July have been moved forward.  The match between NSW I and Queensland II Schools, original scheduled to be played at North Sydney Oval, is now being held at Riverview at 2.30pm.

MONDAY 1st JULY

1015 Game 1: Div 1 – NSW II v VIC First Field

1130 Game 2: Div 1 – QLD II v CS First Field

1300 Game 3: Div 1 – QLD I v ACT First Field

1430 Game 4: Div 1 – NSW I v WA First Field

WEDNESDAY 3rd JULY

0900 Game 5: Div 1 – NSW II v ACT First Field

1015 Game 6: Div 1 – NSW I v CS First Field

1130 Game 7: Div 1 – QLD I v VIC First Field

1300 Game 8: Div 1 – QLD II v WA First Field

1430 Game 9: Div 2 – LMRDT v SA First Field
