Thank you for your understanding.
In my recent post on the Wallaby openside position and who would be chosen to fill it I surmised that Ben McCalman would be the Wallaby blindside and Ben Mowen the number 8. I thought my reasoning was pretty spot on and most people would agree with me.
How wrong I was. The variations started to flow and they affected and were affected by the locks and openside they picked. I’m still pretty sure I got the players right but I’m now not so sure of the positions they’ll play.
Well I’m sure Ben Mowen will play but McCalman? In the hope of clearing things up I’ve gone back to the stats. Guess what? I don’t think it helped.
So I’m throwing it out to you.
Convince me. I’ll provide the stats, you provide the argument. Tell me who the Wallaby selectors will pick and why.
