Friend Rings Changes
Aussie Men’s Sevens coach Andy Friend has made six changes for this weekend’s final World Series tournament at the London Sevens.
Pama Fou, Allan Fa’alava’au, Stephen van der Walt, Sam Figg, Frank Winterstein and John Porch all rejoin the squad.
Pat McCutcheon will take over the captaincy for the absent Ed Jenkins.
“It’s a big weekend for all of the players in this squad,” Friend said.
“It’s the last opportunity for them to impress me on the World Series circuit before I select the squad for the Olympics.
“Jesse [Parahi] was one player who did stick his hand up last weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing him back it up.
“I’ve not had the luxury of being able to select Pama as yet — but he’s been looking sharp since returning to full training and to see him and Henry Hutchison combine is a potentially explosive mix.”

Horwitz to Replace Beale
Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson has selected young playmaker David Horowitz to replace Kurtley Beale at inside centre for their match against the Crusaders.
Winger Rob Horne backed Horwitz to do the job thiss weekend.
“He [Horwitz] went well coming off on the bench on the weekend having limited preparation, so I thought he played well and he’ll be better for the run,” Horne said.
“Whenever time you get out there you definitely go better for that. Experience is something you only get by doing, so he’s done that. He came in early … and then spent time continually learning behind Kurtley.”

Gorumaru to Toulon
Reds fullback Ayumu Goromaru will reportedly leave the Reds at the end of the year to join French club Toulon.
Goromaru is allegedly in the final stage of negotiations with the French club.
Goromaru has had limited game time with the Reds this season as Karmichael Hunt has filled the fullback spot.
A recent groin injury to Hunt has opened up an opportunity for Goromaru and he may start against the Sunwolves this weekend.
