Today I am a poor man’s Nutta & step in to fill the masters shoes.
Read on for what’s new, what’s old, what’s happening and what may not actually be remotely true.
7A’s A-OK
News from everybody’s favourite cadet journo, the one, the only, Nathan Williamson of rugby.com.au fame that Mr 7A’s Allan Alaalatoa could be a likely starter for this weekends test against The Cathoilcs in the per capita crime capital of the world, Jo’Burg this Sunday morning 1.05am AEST.
7A’s also reports with some enthusiasm that Taniela ‘The Abattoir’ Tupou & Angus ‘The Bull’ Bell are displaying some vim & vigor on the training paddock and might be bench specials for this week as well! How good would a piggies combo of 7A’s, Jimmy Slips, The Bull, The Abattoir, with ‘Porky’ Porecki and Matt ‘Sargeant Shultz’ Faessler be first up. Let alone with Skelton, Arnold, Frost, Holloway & Sideshow Bob Valentini helping out.
Fearless Prediction: You’ll have to wait till Friday for that one.
The Vern Cotter Blues
Not a new Kiwi music sensation, but news from the isle of the sheep enthusiasts, that the well travelled Vern Cotter will be the 2024 coach for the Auckland Blues.
The Blues looked good all year before defecating their bed sheets against the Ben O’Keefe ‘here’s a leg up’ perennial trophy winners, the Canterbury somethings.
Juniors chase chocolates
Been following the U20’s World Cup? planetrugby.com has you covered with all round #3 teams, times & machinations.
The junior Wallabies can feel rightly aggrieved with some officiating last week that later saw two Irish players suspended for offences that the judiciary panel decided met the ‘red card threshold’ during their loss, as Nathan Grey points out here. However what really hurt the Golden Toddlers was the loss of standout prop Massimo De Lutiis to injury early on.
When it’s all said & done, Tuesday’s game for our U20’s against England is must-win, with the side needing a bonus point and results to go their way to qualify for the semi-finals.
What chance you reckon?
