Week 15 of Super Rugby brought us 4 different games featuring Australian teams. The Red’s went down to the Cheifs, the Brumbies toppled the Bulls, the Rebels trounced the Sunwolves and the Waratahs losts to the Jaguares.Check out our team of the week.

[one_third last=”no”]

Scott_Sio

1. Scott Sio (Brumbies)

Once again a part of a strong Brumbies front row. Made 6 runs and a few nice passes.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

FolauFaingaa

2. Folau Faingaa (Brumbies)

The firm favourite for the Wallabies no.2 jersey he made 9 strong runs for 17m.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”yes”]

Allan_Alaalatoa

3. Allan Alaalatoa (Brumbies)

Has become a bit of a fiery workhorse for the Brumbies. He steamed onto the ball making 29 run metres from his 7 runs and made 10/10 tackles.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Izack_Rodda

4. Izack Rodda  (Reds)

Although a bit of inexperience was probably the reason the Reds didn’t get over the line, Rodda once again didn’t stop. He made 16 runs and made 8/8 tackles. He also was a rock in the Reds lineout.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Rob_Simmons

5. Rob Simmons (Waratahs)

Got through alot of work this week, although not always effective, he still managed 12/13 tackles and 27 run metres from his 7 runs.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”yes”]

Lukhan_Salakaia-Loto

6. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto (Reds)

Was one of the only Reds player that looked dangerous with ball in hand. He made 15 runs for 47m beating 2 defenders, 1 clean break and 2 offloads.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Michael_Hooper

7. Michael Hooper (Waratahs)

Known for his defensive work, which was good again this week (11/13 tackles) he also made 38m with ball in hand from his 9 runs. Scored an early pilfer also..

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Pete_Samu

8. Peter Samu (Brumbies)

Doing all the right things on the field, Samu seems like he has a special touch whenever he gets invovled. 9/10 tackles and 29 run metres with 3 defenders beaten..

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”yes”]

Tate_McDermott

9. Tate McDermott (Reds)

Without Kerevi, the Reds lacked attacking prowess – McDermott took it upon himself to try and make headways and he did with 11 runs for 38m.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Quade_Cooper

10.  Quade Cooper (Rebels)

Is there anyone in the world with a better long ball than Cooper? After some bad form he reminded people this week why he will be close to the Wallabies 10 spot. He earnt himself 2 try assists and even made 12/13 tackles.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Marika_Koroibete

11. Marika Koroibete (Rebels)

Had a huge week. He scored 2 tries and ran for 133m with 6 defenders beaten, 7 clean breaks and a try assist.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”yes”]

Irae_Simone

12. Irae Simone (Brumbies)

Starting to look confident in the 12 jersey, he ran well, made all of his tackles and earnt himself 2 try assists.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Tevita_Kuridrani

13. Tevita Kuridrani (Brumbies)

Has locked himself a spot in the Wallabies squad, Kuridrani has been extremely dangerous with ball in hand. Some beautiful lines saw him cross the line 3 times.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”no”]

Henry_Speight

14. Henry Speight (Brumbies)

Another Brumbies player who is coming into form at the right time. He made 49 run metres and earnt himself a try assist.

[/one_third]

[one_third last=”yes”]

Dane_Haylett-Petty

15. Dane Haylett-Petty (Rebels)

Another player that looks like he picked himself in gold. 66 run metres with 5 defenders beaten and some nice kicking from the back.

[/one_third]

On the fringe of selection:

Reece Hodge – Has come into his own his he moved to 13. Looking stronger every week and I think will be a great bench option for the Wallabies (if not on the wing).
Taniela Tupou – Brad Thorn has seemed to given him licence to roam and it has given him sting in attack and defence. He pushed his way over a try also.
Toni Pulu – Had a really good week on the left wing for the Brumbies. Really starting to show his worth making 60 run metres this week.

Disappointments:

Rory Arnold – Had a good week with ball in hand but gave away 4 penalties and had a handling error.

Matt Phillip – After some really good form he had an off week. He copped a yellow card, gave away 2 penalties and had 2 handling errors.

Kurtley Beale’s tackle – Beale had an alright week except for an extremely poor tackle against the Jaguares over the line.
