On the 11th of August 2017, my 29th birthday, my wife and I took the day off and spent the night in a swanky hotel. We’ve all heard the old saying that ‘defence wins you games and attack determines the margin’. Well the Hurricanes definitely showed that to be true with an impressive 34-12 over the Western Force in Perth. The Hurricanes scored six tries to two which can be largely atrributed to a heroic defensive effort followed by the razzle dazzle we’ve come to expect from the Canes. A first half blitz from the Crusaders and a strong finish, has seen them come away with a big win against an undermanned Western Force team in Christchurch. They scored four tries in the first half but the visitors never gave up and scored two themselves.
