Beale to give away 10 jersey
Kurtley Beale expects Bernard Foley to come straight back into the number 10 jersey even if he continues to show good form at the position. “When Bernard does come back, I think he’d be slotting straight back,” he said. “He’s a quality player and I think my combination with him is working wonders.”
Beale did emphasise though that he will be trying to make the Wallabies inside centre position his own for the upcoming June Test series against England. This week will go some way towards that goal, with Beale preparing to do battle with Christian Lealiifano and Matt Toomua on Friday in Canberra.

Brumbies clear of mind games
The Brumbies are refusing to get sucked into the hype of Friday’s Super Rugby blockbuster against the NSW Waratahs, saying they will continue to be aggressive at the breakdown despite discipline issues last week.
“We’re not going to change anything, we’re going to put pressure on the breakdown when we can because that’s a big part of the Brumbies’ style of play,” backrower Jarrad Butler said. He also emphasised that the focus this week would be on improving on their revamped attacking style, not snapping their four-game losing streak against the Tahs at GIO Stadium.

Force suffer early injuries
The Western Force have already felt the string of injuries within their squad, losing two more key players ahead of the upcoming clash with the Reds in Brisbane next week. Centre Kyle Godwin left the field with a knee injury in the second half of Saturday’s 25-19 loss to the Melbourne Rebels while flanker Chris Alcock also injured his leg.
Michael Foley’s team was already without Matt Hodgson with the now-injured Alcock had taking over the role of captain. The team is also looking to fill the void left by the loss of two props, Tetera Faulkner and Francois van Wyk, for several weeks.

Jaguares lock suspended
Jaguares lock Tomas Lavanini has been suspended for one week after being found guilty of dangerous play in their Super Rugby match against the Cheetahs. SANZAAR duty judicial officer Nigel Hampton has accepted a guilty plea from Lavanini for contravening Law 10.4 (g) – dangerous charging.
“I found the offence to have an entry point in the low end range which starts at a two-week suspension,” Hampton said, before adding, “I did take the player admitting guilt for the offence into account as a mitigating factor.” Lavanini will next appear for the Argentinian side in round 4, as they have a bye in round 3.
