Two Aussie young guns
Two Sydney 18-year-olds have been making the news in rugby recently.
Andrew Kellaway scored four tries for the Australian Under 20s in the IRB Junior World Championships against Samoa on Sunday and Harry Jones scored his customary pie for the Warringah Rats in the Shute Shield the day before.
Born within a month of each other the two lads have played together for both NSW and Australian Schools with Kellaway playing fullback and Jones on the wing.
In 2014, their first year out of school, both were selected for the NSW Under 20s side for the national championships in Canberra this year. Kellaway was selected for the Aussie Under 20s but Jones missed out.
Jones started the season playing in 2nd Grade with Warringah with some runs in the Ones from the bench but when regular winger Brad Dixon got himself married one Saturday, the day the Rats played Manly their deadly rivals, Harry got his spot and has been there since. ***
After a late start in the Ones he has scored eight tries.
ABC commentators have been promoting Harry as Super Rugby material pointing out his elusive and skilful play and also his booming boot for exits. I don’t think they have quite worked out yet that he can do it with either foot.
The New Zealand commentators Scott Stevenson and Willy Lose were talking up Andrew for similar honours. He has scored eight tries in four Under 20 games and has an old rugby head on young shoulders.

Watch for these lads in the NRC this year.
*** To be fair, winger Dixon suggested they move their wedding from Saturday to Friday because it was cheaper, which was a good in-and-away, but fiancée Aimee smelled a Rat
