Tri-Nations Ladder – Week 8

Tri-Nations Ladder – Week 8

Despite a great showing in match 7, Robbie’s young developmental squad no longer have even a mathematical chance (my favourite kind of chance) to win the Tri-Nations.

I’ve looked at all possible outcomes from this weekends match and produced the table below to show the path to glory as the Boks and Blecks to battle it out for the silverware.

The following scenarious will wrap up the tournament for the Boks this weekend:

  • any win

  • loss with 2 bonus points
  • loss with 1 bonus point while denying the kiwi’s a winning bonus point

Personally I’d like for the Kiwi’s to flatten the Boks and push the tournament into the 9th match, it’ll be good for the game and great for me as I’m heading to RSA for a 18 day holiday this afternoon!

If the Kiwi’s are to push the tournament to be decided on For and Against, they’ll need to overcome the 39 point differential which the Springboks currently hold.

Who is your preference to take out the tournament and why?
