3. Super Rugby forecast
Despite the fact that we will soon break for the International window, the overall Super Rugby picture is becoming clearer. In my view, the team that takes top spot on the table will take out the title.
The logic behind that is simple – this season’s competition is so close that home advantage will count for a shitload when push comes to shove. You would have to say that it then comes down to a battle between the Chiefs and the Bulls, both of whom finish the season with three straight derby matches. The Brumbies are also up there but only have two games left to play, so will be relying on the aforementioned two sides to drop a few games coming home.
No team is really charging up the leaderboard, so I would rule out an upset. The Crusaders looked good but may be losing Dan Carter for a while with injury, so I can’t see them sustaining a challenge.
The Bulls are my tip. Solid across the park, and near unstoppable at home.
