Phil Mooney’s guide to BBQ-ing

Many months ago, before the interstate game between the Reds and the Tahs, Lote Tuqiri was at pains to point out the merits of the Tahs ‘win ugly’ style. In response to a barb from the Reds’ Quade Cooper about the lack of enterprise in the Tahs play, Lote returned serve with a pretty decent ‘fuck you’ to the Reds.

“I know I would rather be entertaining the crowd come Super 14 semi-final time rather than entertaining friends at an end-of-season barbecue. So we will see where that puts them at the end of the year”  

Well Phil Mooney has outlined his plans for the Reds end of season BBQ, and revenge is clearly on the menu. Responding to a question of whether he had had any text messages from the Tahs after the Reds failed to save the NSW season, Mooney laughed.

“Well no, but I can say that entertaining at BBQ’s is very nice, you know I think that they may well experience that. I can tell them it’s a lot warmer up here than the BBQ’s they’ll be having down south”

Its been a long season for the Reds again this year, and one which has frustrated Mooney beyond belief at times, nice to know that at least he has kept his sense of humour.
