Here’s our Aussie Super Team of the week for Round 2.
1. Ben Alexander – seems to be relishing a return to the loosehead role. Excellent set piece work.
2. Stephen Moore – the only Aussie hooker who can throw lineouts? Also bull-like.
3. Dan Palmer – still solid despite a few errors.
4. Luke Jones – starting to show what he can do, put in the hard work.
5. Sam Carter – head down, bum up.
6. Ed Quirk – coming into his own, another abrasive performance. Wallaby 6 jersey is open…
7. Liam Gill – quietly went about his work, but always involved.
8. Ben Mowen – keeps making you wonder how he hasn’t been a Wallaby – G&GR Man of the Round.
9. Nic White – sniping great, but his kicking game is a stand-out among the Aussie teams.
10. Quade Cooper – not yet a starring role, but set up those around him.
11. Clyde Rathbone – showing elements of his international class in making space and finishing.
12. Ben Tapuai – captaincy looks good on him, telling involvements in the match.
13. Andrew Smith – not flashy but more direct running and solid D paying off.
14. Digby Ioane – that explosive pace is back to the fore, made Tom Carter dizzy.
15. Jesse Mogg – what can’t this guy do? Just makes great shit happen.
A fair call? What changes would you make?
