Link v. Jake
This is a face-off on more than one level. It’s emerged that Jake White and Ewen McKenzie were both interviewed for Ireland’s top job last night. Brumbies coach White and Queensland coach McKenzie spoke to IRFU officials via video conference, and are in the running to be head coach, along with Kiwi Joe Schmidt and Australian Les Kiss.
Can you imagine the ARU letting both these guys get away, leaving us with Deans? I can.
At the same time the battle of words ahead of the top of the table clash in Brisbane Saturday night has ramped up a level, with White striking back against Link’s “Mucks” dig yesterday. The South African started handing out stats sheets at a presser claiming the Reds were the dirtiest team in the comp. See our own Scott Allen’s analysis of these claims here»

Tahs scrap captain’s run
The Tahs are shaking it up by scrapping the traditional captain’s run the day before the big match versus the Chiefs. To keep the intensity high, they have decided that on that day they should er, do nothing. Dave Dennis said:
“We trained hard Sunday and Monday and again yesterday so I just felt as though as long as the guys are across all the knowledge and aware of the task ahead of us, I didn’t think there was a need for anything today”.
Logical.

Bouncer convicted over Tindall Vid
A New Zealand bouncer who leaked CCTV footage of former England centre Mike Tindall’s drunken antics during the 2011 Rugby World Cup was convicted Thursday of stealing the video.
A mastermind like many bouncers are, having illegally accessed the footage he’d planned to sell it to a newspaper for $2 million. But when that didn’t work, he just stuck it on the internet. Genius.
