Comment
Congratulations to all the boys picked to represent the state of NSW.
Because Australian selectors want to look at the best players starting as often as possible in the National Championships, the highest rated 15 players are named in the NSW I team and the next highest rated 15 players are named for the NSW IIs.
The next eight ranked players are named as reserves for the NSW II side and the remaining eight players become reserves of the NSW Is.
The selectors had to make some tough decisions and although there are a few curly selections, as always, they’ve done their job well in my opinion.
Readers should note that the NSW selectors are independent of the selectors of the school associations GPS, CAS, CHS and ISA, and have chosen some players for the NSW 1st XV who were in the 2nd XV for their school associations.
Commiserations to the lads who missed out but several of them will be chosen in the Combined States team which also competes in the National Championships.[/one_half]
