The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies are thrilled to announce that rising star Faitala Moleka has signed a one-year extension, solidifying her place in the club’s Super Rugby Women’s program for the 2025 season.
Originally hailing from Penrith, Moleka made the move to Canberra, making her debut in 2023 against the Fijiana Drua. Since then, the flyhalf has been a formidable presence on the field. At just 18, she earned her first cap with the Wallaroos and played a pivotal role in their WXV 2 triumph in South Africa last year. Her stellar debut season also saw her crowned as the Wallaroos Rookie of the Year.
Reflecting on her decision to stay with the Brumbies, Moleka expressed her gratitude: “Re-signing at the Brumbies was definitely a no-brainer. I’m super grateful for what this club has done for me personally as an athlete; I love this place.” She also highlighted the influence of Head Coach Andy Friend, stating, “Andy is someone I love to work with in improving my game… he definitely made the decision easy for me.”
Coach Friend reciprocated the admiration, emphasising Moleka’s impact: “Faitala has continued to showcase her superb talents over the past 12 months, shining for both the Brumbies and the Wallaroos. Her decision to remain in Canberra for the upcoming season is very exciting and a huge positive for us as a team.” He added, “She will play a really important role in guiding our 2025 campaign, as her game management and skill set are world class.”
With Moleka’s recommitment, the Brumbies are poised for a promising 2025 season, bolstered by her exceptional talent and leadership on the field.
