The data used in all of the is from the ‘Have a Rank’ posts that are published each week and you – the GAGR proletariat – vote upon. Week on week you guys vote with a thumbs up or thumbs down per starting player.
Your rankings with thousands of votes cast every week are pretty a good gauge on the team and the players’ form. So here is all of the data since the start of The Rugby Championship for the key Wallaby players. (James O’Connor was left out as he won’t feature again this year)
The average score for a back is 6.8
The average score for a forward is 10
A score of 1 is perfect ie. everyone agrees you were the best Wallaby of the Game
A score of 15 means the people pretty much think you suck.
The backs: a good score is less than 6
Started the year on par and finished very well – didn’t miss a beat after missing a few matches.
Some lows – but the crowd favourite has finished well – needs to maintain the recent consistency.
One of the most inconsistent players in previous years is finishing well and consistent – not bad.
A fine start – but things were starting to slide before the injury.
Strong – but not as consistent as you might have thought.
A statisticians nightmare – poor average and high variation (and a low sample size). You can’t hide a poor game at No.9 and the fans show their displeasure.
Disliking the character and heart of the Honey Badger is nearly impossible but his results on the field are consistently below par.
The forwards: a good score is less than 10.
A good average – but you expect more from the Aussie openside flanker – especially against Argentina and England. Is the long season catching up?
A third placing against New Zealand was the highlight and things have only gotten worse since then. Inconsistent and a downward trend.
To be expected – consistent – on par – peaked against Argentina but suffers against NZ. Didn’t do well with the Captaincy, were expectations raised?
An above par performance who was let down by three bad performances in a row. As usual he bounced back and ended well.
Like a BOSS – can he do no wrong in your eyes? A higher average than all of the backs and John Eales Medallist Hooper. The modern day Hulk Hogan – THE FANS LOVE HIM!
Not good signs for the loosehead – if you think this is bad just wait.
The rest/injury didn’t seem to do any favours here either. Has he had any top form all year? You certainly don’t think so.
Not a report card you would want to show mum and dad. He is Rowdy Roddy Piper to Fardy’s Hulk Hogan.
