Beale speaks out
Yesterday Kurtley Beale spoke to the media for the first time since his alcohol related issues began to flare on the Rebels’ ill-fated trip to South Africa. The recalled Wallaby was extremely grateful for the opportunity that has been extended to him by Robbie Deans and the rest of the Wallabies hierarchy.
Speaking from the Wallabies Sunshine Coast training base Beale said “I’m feeling really good and really positive. It’s great to be back in the Wallabies environment, they’re a great group of boys and a lot of familiar faces … I’m just really excited and very grateful for the opportunity”. During his time answering questions, Beale also mentioned how happy he was to be back playing the game he loves and that being back on the field and in training “takes a lot of the distractions away”. Hopefully Beale’s recovery can continue both on and most importantly off the field.

Young star recommits to the Force
In a major coup for the struggling Western Force, impressive young centre Kyle Godwin has re-signed with the Perth based outfit. Even though he was already locked up until the end of 2014, Godwin has extended his deal with the Force until the end of 2016. If he had waited until next year to re-negotiate there would no doubt have been quite the bidding war amongst the Aussie franchises for his services.
But in a show of faith for the Force, the Perth local highlighted his coach’s contributions as a key reason behind his re-signing, saying “the rugby program that Michael Foley and the coaches have offered has been excellent and I feel like my game’s developed a lot this year.”

Morahan called up
The additions to the Wallabies squad keep on coming. Queensland Reds winger Luke Morahan has been added to the squad, following news yesterday that Joe Tomane of the Brumbues has a toe injury and will miss at least the first test. Morahan put in an eye-catching display against the Lions over the weekend, including a wonderful solo try. As a result he finds himself being pulled out of the Aussie Sevens squad that have been prepping on the Gold Coast, and joining the Wallabies squad. Morahan will be looking to add to his lone test cap, which came in the Wallabies’ 2012 home loss to Scotland.
