Cooper and Izzy not in coaches team
It’s been known for a while that the Aussie Super Rugby coaches have been supplying their selection of a Wallabies team to Robbie Deans. That team has now been leaked in the form of an email. It reveals they wouldn’t have selected Cooper and Folau, but gone with O’Connor and Mogg instead.
The list was put together before the Tahs toured South Africa, but here’s who they selected as the run on team: 1. Robinson, 2. Moore, 3. Alexander, 4. Horwill, 5. Simmons, 6. Higgers, 7. Gill, 8. Palu, 9. Genia, 10. O’Connor, 11. Ioane, 12. Lealiifano, 13. AAC, 14. Shipperley, 15. Mogg

Most expensive Lions Tour ever
This Lions tour will cost the tourists – wait for it – $21 million. That’s $6 million more than the 2009 tour to South Africa. Most of that rise is due to the cost of living in Australia and exchange rate (don’t we know it) but also due to the fact that the basic player payment for the tour has increased from $67,500 to $100,500.
Despite all this, they’re still going to turn a surplus of $6 million, which will be shared around the home unions due to the range of major sponsors they have. Something thin on the ground in Australia, with there being still no sponsor for the series here. [/one_half]

Douglas wants to play on
Kane Douglas has said he wants to play this weekend, after the passing of his mother Trish on Monday.
”Kane wants to play. We’ll wait to see how the week pans out but if [he] wants to play then he will play,” Cheika said. ”Like anyone in this situation – I’ve been there myself – if that’s a sacrifice that he’s prepared to make to want to play with his team then he’s going to play.”
Our thoughts are with the big fella and his family.
