It’s been a tough week for the Australian Super Rugby sides with all four teams in action losing their matches, so let’s start with some good news.
1. Is David Pocock back to his best?
The Brumbies went to Auckland to take on the winless Blues and came away with a loss but one of the main talking points from the match was the display from David Pocock.
He single handedly kept his side in the game with a number of steals at the ruck and secured some crucial penalties at times and displayed some of the form we know he can produce. It was reminiscent of the 2011 World Cup Quarter Final against the Springboks in Wellington.
Being a World Cup year it is one shining light in what has been a disappointing year so far for the Australian sides and will give Michael Cheika some food for thought in the never ending Hooper v Pocock debate of who plays at 7 at the World Cup.
So sit back and watch this master class of ruck burgling at it’s best:
