Eddie Jones has stroke
Former Wallabies coach and current coach of Japan, Eddie Jones, has been taken to hospital with signs of a minor stroke.
The 53-year-old Australian complained of a headache late on Tuesday when he returned to Tokyo from an inspection of the Brave Blossoms’ training camp for their Test against the All Blacks in Tokyo on November 2, Japan Rugby Football Union officials said on Wednesday.
“He was with the team’s staff at the time, and they went together to a hospital in Tokyo by taxi,” Mayuko Watanabe said. “The doctors said he was showing signs of a light cerebral infarction, and he was hospitalised for examination.”

Wallabies to take pay cut
Bill Pulver has confirmed that in light of a financial hole that even an over performing Lions tour won’t touch, player payments are on the chopping block when the ARU board meets with RUPA next Monday. Currently Wallabies get $14,000 per match.
“Player directors (RUPA) have been united in their commitment in trying to assist the game in trying to confront the financial issues,” Harris told AAP.
“My predecessor (Tony Dempsey) did a very good job of negotiating for the players when the dams were full and there was plenty of water around but we have a drought at the moment so we all have to drink a little bit less,” he said.
“The players are being very responsible.”
It would be fascinating to hear ARU board justify to RUPA the $2.2million payout they sanctioned for the performance John O’Neill supplied in his final year at the helm of a crashing organisation.
