Both teams were incredibly even on the defensive front. The Wallabies made 121 tackles while missing 19 while the Lions made 132 tackles and missed 18. The Wallabies forced 7 turnovers to the Lions’ 8.
Ben Mowen, Wycliff Palu and James Horwill left it all on the field, making 14, 13 and 12 tackles respectively. Each of the starting front row of Benn Robinson, Stephen Moore and Ben Alexander forced a turnover during the match. Even replacement prop Sekope Kepu forced one to round out the front row pilfering fiesta for the Wallabies.
Will Genia had a very forgettable night on defense, making 2 tackles while missing 3.
Every member of the Lions pack with the exception of the starting props Adam Jones and Alex Corbisiero forced a turnover in what was an incredibly impressive team-driven effort.
