6. Ipswich Grammar School – 100.749
Similarly to Toowoomba, Ipswich Grammar’s slow start to the season has two recurring ingredients; a missing superstar in the outside center position, and a defeat of Brisbane Grammar. The pride of the Darling Downs didn’t win a match in the first 4 rounds of competition (that included the bye), getting beat down by a confident TSS outfit in round 1, before narrowly losing by less than 5 points twice against GT and BSHS. Round 5 saw the Ipswich star players light up as they beat BGS by less than 5.
Ipswich’s close games have resulted in a negative 4 average margin for each game, while facing a pretty solid schedule rated 0.469. Whilst it may surprise some that an 1-3 team could be ranked the 6th most powerful team in the GPS, wait until you see them play when it all clicks.
This side is definitely capable of causing upsets, and I get the feeling there’ll be a few more of those to come this season..
Ipswich’s NBA equivalent is the 13th ranked Utah Jazz (100.283)
