9. Brisbane Grammar School – 86.027
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
2012 saw a year where everything that could have gone Grammar’s way, did. Sam Greene, Matt Marsden, and Jack Cornelson rescued BGS from 5 or 6 defeats in starry individual performances, and whilst Grammar continues to keep the scoreline close in 2013 (Average margin: -7.45), they just can’t land that elusive knockout blow that won so many games in 2012.
Brisbane’s low power ranking has been hugely influenced by their lack of success against the weaker teams of the competition, and a win record of 0.250 in combination with a Schedule Strength (SOS) index of 3.75, the lowest of the competition, has seen BGS plummet to the bottom of the Power Rankings.
With the emphasis placed on form in the last 3 rounds, which for BGS included 2 losses (both home and away) and the bye also had a negative impact on BGS’ Power Ranking.
With tough games remaining against BBC, ACGS, TSS, and GT, Brisbane Grammar needs a big improvement if it is to lift above the last ranked spot.
For comparative purposes, the last placed Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA scored a Hollinger Ranking of 91.427 in their season.
