The NSW Waratahs have re-signed towering lock Miles Amatosero ahead of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season. Standing at 203cm and weighing 125kg, Amatosero adds significant presence to the Waratahs’ forward pack.
A product of Sydney’s Waverley College, Amatosero honed his skills in France with Top 14 club Clermont before returning to New South Wales in late 2023. In his debut season with the Waratahs, he made 14 appearances, showcasing his potential on the Super Rugby stage.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Amatosero stated, “I’m so happy to be signing again. I can’t wait for the season ahead of us now. We’re fitter, stronger and have built a great environment to be in.” He added, “I love this state. I love this club. I hope to achieve great things in the next couple of years. Hopefully one of them is helping to bring the Waratahs back to where we belong.”
Head Coach Dan McKellar commented on Amatosero’s potential, saying, “Miles has plenty of potential there is no doubt. We feel within this program and the coaching group here; we can educate him on what a professional rugby player looks like.”
With a full pre-season under his belt, Amatosero is poised to make a significant impact as the Waratahs aim to climb the SRP standings in 2025.
