This weekend in Queensland Premier Rugby was definitely a highlight in this year’s competition, with close scores all across the board!
First-placed GPS drew with Uni 22-22 in Uni’s Heritage Round celebrations at St. Lucia.
After trailing 5-12 at half time, Souths came back to beat Sunnybank 23-19. This win brings Souths a bit closer to regaining their spot in the Top Four.
Brothers put on a show for their Ladies Day crowd, winning 28-22. After losing 8-10 at half time, they kicked into gear in the second half and played some really good footy. Despite the loss, Easts will still keep their place in the Top Four alongside GPS, Uni and Brothers.
The Gold Coast remain winless and Norths picked up their first win of the season winning 50-44 in a nail-biter of a match.
The full match reports from cadet journalists can be found under this link later in the day.

It’s a big few weeks coming up in Premier Rugby. Sunnybank and Souths are close to pushing their way in the Top Four and will be a force to be reckoned with over the coming weeks. Uni play Brothers next week which will be a great heavyweight encounter, while Sunnybank will be looking to creep into fourth spot by getting a win over GPS.
