Here are a few thoughts on what happened last week vs Fiji, and what that might mean when Australia take on England in Perth this weekend.
We start off looking at the ruck tactics employed, and then have a squizz at the roles that Nathan Sharpe and Kurtley Beale have been playing in the side. As for this weekend’s result? Well, if the poms don’t get lured into playing a lateral wide game like they did in the first half against the Aussie Barbarians, then I think we’re in for a rough ride. It’s not just in the scrum, this is a bruiser of an England pack on the hoof with some big runners outside them.
In a perverse way, regardless of the result, this will be fantastic experience for this young Wallaby side, but I can’t help but think they’ll come away on the wrong side of the ledger.
