Here it is – the G&GR writers’ Super Rugby team of the week for round 3.
Western Force hosted the top of the ladder Brumbies while the Reds travelled to Melbourne but couldn’t come away with a win, But who made the team of the week?
[one_third last=”no”]
1. Scott Sio
No one real stood out in the Loosie ranks this weekend, have gone with Sio for his better defense.

2. Stephen Moore
Captained the Brumbies well, good all round game. Brumbies fans must be dreading the thought of him moving North next season.

3. Laurie Weeks
Best scrummaging I have seen from Weeks in a long time, hoping for a lot more of this to come

4. Ross Haylett-Petty
Had a massive game for the Force, made a lot of tackles and had a lot of involvement in a tough game for the Force pack.

5. Cadeyrn Neville
Good game against his old club, was one of the best on ground for the Reds. Big defensive effort and a few good runs to.

6. Scott Fardy
Another good game from Fardy, always in the thick of the action and great off load for Brumbies 2nd Try[/one_third]
7. Sean McMahon
Toughest position to decide this weekend, easily could have gone to all the opensides. Gone with McMahon, the young captain lead the team by example and really put in a massive performance.[/one_third]

8. Jake Schatz
Would have been my Man of the Match, and that’s coming from a Rebels fan. This guy kept the Reds in the game and really stepped up this week. Game high 17 tackles to.

9. Nick Frisby
Really struggled to decide on a Scrum half this week, thought they all played well with out standing out to much. Was a good contest against Meehan and just putting Frisby ahead because of the great meet pie he got for his side. Was a really good support line that left the Rebels no chance of stopping him.

10. Christian Lealiifano
The best fly half on the weekend, experience showed. Not a mile ahead of the rest, don’t really think any of the Fly half’s played horrible.

11. Tom English
His best game in a couple of years, looked dangerous and kept getting past the gain line everytime he got his hands on the ball, hopefully he can continue to improve this season.

12. Matt Toomua
The best inside center in Australia by a long shot at the moment, should easily be in Cheika’s plans for this year.

13. Tevita Kuridrani
Another position with plenty of competition this week. Rank Kuridrani slightly ahead of the rest from the weekend, but would have loved to pick Sione after a great debut for the Rebels.

14. Luke Morahan
Strong runs, great line for his meat pie. One of the Best for the Force all night[/one_third]

15. Dane Haylett-Petty
Form full back in the country at the moment, hope Cheika is keeping watch and gives him a chance at some stage this year.
