Aussie Super Rugby Team of the Week Round 7
Here it is – the G&GR writers’ Super Rugby team of the week for round 7.
1. Scott Sio
Great to see a young prop bursting onto the scene like this.
2. Stephen Moore
Other than a couple of (barely) squinty throws he was impressive as usual.
3. Dan Palmer
Powerfully anchored a dominant scrum – the Brumbies’ key weapon.
4.Hugh McMeniman
His impact is just outstanding, week in and week out.
5. James Horwill
Back to being the Reds’ go-to man – rekindling the intensity needed to win big games.
6. Peter Kimlin
Putting in his best year to date, just in time to move to France.
7. Liam Gill
Huge impact before his injury – unfairly treated by ref.
8. Ben Mowen
Still hasn’t put a foot wrong this season as he continues to lead from the front.
9. Will Genia
Is it my failing memory or could he always kick that long? GAGR Man of the Round
10. Quade Cooper
Despite questions over his knee and confidence, showed more of what we remember.
11. Alfie Mafi
Digby-like when he gets hold of the ball – always beating a tackle
12. Christian Lealiifano
Six goals and a pressure kick to win the match. Looking happy at the top level
13. Adam Ashley-Cooper
Some old fashioned tradmark runs bringing back the meat pies. Doing the extra yards.
14. Dom Shipperley
Back with the dangerous pace and bustle.
15. Israel Folau
Just magnificent under the high ball and a threat to the line. As for the kicking…
