So, another Rugby World Cup is upon us and here I go. All you people at home, getting up at stupid o’clock during the night to watch our Wallabies play…. just think of me. Over here. Travelling around to all the games. Going to Twickernam and Cardiff……. Yeah ok. I have got the better end of the deal. Sorry. Just had to rub it in a little.
This was my second visit to Millennium Stadium and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere in this Stadium is one of the best in the world. Even when Wales isn’t playing. If you have never been, add it to your bucket list and do it. If you make it for a Welsh game the more the better.
The was a fair bit of gold around the town and in the crowd today, but there was also a fair bit of black and white. And the obligatory Chiefs & Brumbies jerseys. (Seriously! They are everywhere.) The Welsh crowd was definitely behind the Flying Fijians as they belted out the “Fiji…Fiji….” chant. ‘Swing Low’ also got an airing and it was that which raised the goose bumps under the roof. Don’t worry, when it come to our game against England the Welsh will be squarely behind the Wallabies.
The Wallabies look a little rusty in their first run in the tournament and not going for the bonus point might come back to haunt us. What did it look like from that side of the world? Fingers crossed Slipps pulls up ok after having his bell will and truely rung by a Fiji head.
Anything else to be said? Not really. Go Wallabies!!!!
