The Australian Rugby Union have announced this afternoon that Kurtley Beale will not join the Wallabies on their Spring tour just yet.
Wallabies coach Michael Cheika said he did not require Beale for the Spring tour.
“The first thing he has to do is start training. He’s been under a fair bit of pressure as you can imagine. He hasn’t done any training the last couple of weeks. He has to get into some condition first of all and then we’ll see what happens.
“I’m confident with the guys we’ve got here. There’s no desperation or anything.
“I’m not even thinking about whether he will come into the side if there is an injury. I literally found out about the tribunal’s decision in Dubai. When he wasn’t picked, I was preparing for the fact that he wasn’t on the tour.
“I’ll speak to him in next couple of days and tell him to start training because you never know, but first thing is that he starts preparing for his provincial side and getting back to work.”
The ARU also released a statement saying:
The Australian Rugby Union today confirmed Qantas Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika has advised Kurtley Beale will not join the squad for the Spring Tour.
From time to time there are changes to personnel during tours, due to injury or other matters, and we will advise if there are any changes to this position.
