I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but tonight the Western Force announced that Reds Vice Captain Will Genia is their new signing for 2013. Rather than being a shock move, fans of disco music would recall him singing about the move quite some time ago.

A lot of people might have expected him to tell his teammates before they found out on tv and on twitter, but astute Reds-watchers would have seen the signs he was going during the week. He was distant, always on the phone, he was looking at other teams wearing blue…
But Will keeps things close to his chest. According to Nick McArdle, the same can’t be said for the Western Force.
But where did this leave his teammates? Well, a lot like us, questioning if it was just another twitter hoax.
Finally, after much conjecture and discussion, the Reds came out confirming that it was true.
Interestingly, while this was all going on, Digby Ioane (who had been sharing the room with Will in Auckland) was tweeting, but not about Will’s leaving. We haven’t heard from Ewen McKenzie or James Horwill yet.
UPDATE: Ahead of Sanchez’s presser
