The Brumbies have once again packed their bags and heading to England for the inaugural World Club Sevens tournament at Twickenham this weekend.
The Brumbies are the only Australian team participating in the tournament and join a host of international club teams from both hemispheres for the two day event. Teams such as Auckland, the Blue Bulls and Western Province will take on teams from England, Russia, Argentina and America.
The Brumbies are drawn in Pool C alongside Harlequins, Auckland and Kuban Krasnodar (Russia).
Assistant coach Stephen Larkham takes over the head coaching duties and is taking a squad of twelve players with ten of those involved in the Brumbies squad with two local club players, Rodney Iona (Tuggeranong) and Matt Hawke (Gungahlin), also invited to join the squad.
Some of the squad have sevens experience and will be captained by Robbie Coleman who was part of the Australian side that claimed silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Zack Holmes and Jordan Smiler are other notable players with sevens experience having represented Australia and New Zealand respectively.
All but Henry Speight played limited minutes in the top squad during Super Rugby and those players still involved with the Brumbies in 2014 will be looking to press their claims for next season.
