Scots 69 – Kings 7
“Sonny Dill Williams”was able to watch the start of this game and was impressed with what he saw of Scots.
Match “on the run” report
I was able to watch just the first 30 minutes of this game before having to dash elsewhere. By the time I left they were already up 24 nil, in convincing fashion
Scots’ flyhalf Callum Styles received a shoulder injury within the first few minutes of game and had to retire. He was injured during the Joeys game a couple of weeks before and perhaps the condition was aggravated.
Angus Crichton, was at outside centre and when he teamed up with the massive number 14. Max Hendrie, the right edge was lethal for Scots, but they were less formidable on their left-hand side.
Scots have probably the smallest GPS 1st XV no. 8 in Charlie Smith, but he made up for the lack of size with great speed and skill.
Their half back Theo Strang was very zippy.
Kings definitely looked outclassed although courageous without, I believe their star, fullback James Kane.
The Scots front row also looked good, although the Kings front row and back row were playing well too.
After watching them for just half an hour I think Scots are going to be hard to beat this year, even if Styles can’t recover in the five-week GPS layoff.
