The Queensland Reds have an easier start than in previous season facing the Sharks at home and then the Western Force away in Round 2.
The Waratahs will have their trip to South Africa out of the way early in the season whilst the Brumbies will travel to South Africa in the latter part of the season.

Robertson Wants More
Newly capped Wallaby prop Tom Robertson has expressed his desire to play more matches for the Wallabies.
Before flying out to this weekend to South Africa and then to London, Robertson needs to pass the next step in his medical studies at Sydney University.
Robertson said he enjoyed running out to earn his first test cap against Argentina on the weekend.
“The boys were all smiling at me the whole time when I ran on because they knew how excited I was,” Robertson, 22, said.
“I was pretty pumped up for the first scrum and a win was the greatest sort of initiation for the Wallabies.
“I don’t want to just get that taste for one Test, you want it every week.”

Huxley to Coach Emus
Former Wallaby Julian Huxley has been appointed coach of the Penrith Emus in Sydney’s Shute Shield for the 2017 season.
Huxley takes over from fellow test player Jeremy Paul who was in the position for one season.
Huxley has also been an assistant coach with the Sydney Rays in the NRC for the past two seasons.
“I’m excited to take on the challenge. It’s widely known that the Penrith region is the sleeping giant of Australian Rugby. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got to make a difference,” he said.

Ashton Charged with Biting
Saracens winger Chris Ashton has been charged with two acts of biting by the England Rugby Football Union.
Ashton is alleged to have bitten Northampton prop Alex Waller in the 24th and 25th minute of Saracens match against Northampton.
Saracens boss Mark McCall, said he had not seen the incident when asked about it after the match.
“These things will run (their) course. I suppose there is a good chance that Chris will be cited as a result, so we will see what happens,” he said.
